May 2011: Staycation

We haven't had the best luck with planning vacations ... especially kid-friendly ones. So we decided this Spring that we would vacation at home ... a staycation! We took the whole week off and just spent time together.

We went to the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro. Jack loves the model train display. He likes to push the buttons that make the people move or the lights come on.


The fire truck is always a big hit as well!


Jack and I have been to the Discovery Center many times, but this was Jason's first trip.



Another day, we went to the zoo! Jack's favorite part is the carousel!




Yelling "HI, Daddy!!" (Jason's always the one behind the camera. That's why there are rarely any pictures of him. We need to work on that!)




We also went to the park and played outside! Jack went through a phase where he never went anywhere without a whistle around his neck!









We had such a great time on staycation. It was very restful and relaxing and a sweet time to spend together. I think we should staycation every year in the spring and then take a beach vacation in the fall!
