Along the same lines as the last post, the end of the school year also brought the end of Jack's Mother's Day Out program. Our MDO experience was a bit of a bumpy one so I (Jodi) for one was relieved to see the end of the year. We loved Jack's first teacher, but she passed away unexpectedly over the Christmas holiday. It was terribly sad. Then we just had minor miscommunications and issues with the new teacher the rest of the school year. But even with the bumps along the way, I'm so glad we put Jack in the program. His language development has grown by leaps and bounds and he enjoyed the social time with kids his age (outside of church).
So ... on to the end-of-the-year program. There was a patriotic theme to the program so all of the kids dressed in red white and blue and sang patriotic songs. It was very cute! Jack's class sang "Jesus Loves Me" and "Yankee Doodle" complete with motions. Jack did great! We were so proud. The amazing thing is that even though the program went over an hour, Jack sat with us and behaved very well for the rest of the program. That's not easy for a super-active 2-year-old!
This fall, Jack is enrolled in a new MDO program that starts after Labor Day. We are looking forward to it!!
