A Very Snowy January

January 2011 turned out to be the snowiest month we've ever seen in Middle Tennessee! Several times during the month the snow was heavy and deep enough to strand us at home for a few days.

One day it started snowing while we were at work. It snowed so hard and so fast that we weren't able to get to Jack before the roads got too icy. It took me (Jodi) hours to get home safely from downtown Nashville! I've never driven on icy roads ... and needless to say I was exhausted by the time I got home. So Jack had an impromptu slumber party at Ma's house! We were able to finally get to him early afternoon the next day! It was an adventure!

Jack enjoyed the snow much more than the snow in 2009. He was old enough to really enjoy playing in it ... making it worth the hassle of getting all bundled up. We had a blast!

Say Cheese!!

Our ridiculous attempt at a snowman ... We didn't take the time to make it bigger than Jack.

Checking out the frozen creek with Daddy ...

Jason asked Jack to sit down on this tree branch to get some cute pictures.

You can see how that turned out. We still got some cute pictures ... just not quite what we were going for!

"Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!"

Jason had the awesome idea to break out his snowboard and use it as a sled. Our backyard is sloped just enough that it worked beautifully! Jack loved it!

Trying to catch a snowflake with his tongue ...

Jason figured out somewhere along the way that there was a better setting on his camera for snow. That's why the next few pictures look so much better!

This one is my favorite of the snow pictures!

Run!!

Jack would love to take Daddy's snowboard for a test drive ... but the boots just won't fit!

I even got in on the snowboard action!
