April 2011: Backyard Fun

When we bought our house, one of the major selling points for us was the small creek that runs behind the house. Jason has been eagerly awaiting the day that Jack would be old enough to play in the creek with him. This spring ... they are having a blast!!

At first ... it took Jack convincing that it was OK to get his hands dirty.


But then Daddy taught him how to throw rocks into the water. The bigger the rock ... the better the splash! You can see the rock mid-throw in this picture!

Jack quickly got over the urge to stay clean. Now he is willing to do whatever it takes to find the best throwing rocks!



Jack is also really enjoying the sand and water table that Nonna and Pipaw bought for him last year! You'll notice that we only put sand in it. There was just no good way to keep the sand and the water separated. He doesn't seem to mind!



Our backyard is fairly sloped. Last year we didn't play outside much for fear that it wasn't safe for an off-balance, clumsy toddler. But this year ... we are enjoying spending lots of time outside!
