Trip to Texas -- Day 1

My (Jodi's) grandparents will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this fall. We decided that was a great reason to get the whole family together to celebrate. It had been years since most of us had seen each other and their were at least a few great-grandkids Grandma and Papaw had never even met. So ... since summer was a better time for everyone to get together, we decided to celebrate over the July 4th weekend. My whole family (including my parents and my brother's family) packed our bags and headed to West Texas. It is about an 18-hour drive so we broke it up in to two days of travel! Jason and I were a bit nervous about how Jack would travel, but he was a trooper! He did a great job! We are so blessed!

We headed out around 6:45 on Thursday morning and arrived halfway (in Van Buren, Arkansas) around 4:30 that afternoon. That gave us time to swim and play for a while and then eat a nice leisurely dinner before heading to bed. It was a long day, but it went better than I could have asked for!

We made sure to stop about every two hours and let Jack get some "wiggles" out. One of the places we stopped had a great grassy area where we played ball for a while and Jason got some cute pictures!

"Wanna play ball?"

We're so mean ... we kept throwing it as far as we could and letting him go get it so that he would move around and get some exercise! I think he caught on fairly quickly and was less-than enthusiastic about going to get it.

Great action shot ... throwing the ball over the table

More pictures to come .... but that's all I have time for right now! Stay tuned!
