January 2010 Snow

In early January, we got a good bit of snow. It amounted to somewhere between 1 inch and 1.5 inches. It wasn't much but it was enough to snow us into the house for several days due to slick, icy roads.

We were anxious to get Jack out in the snow to play, but we weren't really prepared. We did have a thick winter coat for Jack, but all of his hats were too small and his gloves were mittens which barely fit and he didn't love since he couldn't use his fingers to pick things up. We didn't have any snow boots either, but we just did the best we could with what we had. It took a while to get bundled up and ready to go. We played outside for 10 or 15 minutes. He didn't love it ... but he didn't hate it either. Oh and by the way ... did I mention the temperature was in the 20s?? It was crazy cold!

I love this picture (below)! Jason got some great shots!

He loves to swing and desperately wanted to swing while we were out, but it was freezing so it wasn't much fun!

So over the cold and ready to go in!

The funny thing is ... just three weeks after this we got a much bigger snow (somewhere around 4 inches). It put this snow to shame! Unfortunately, Jack was running a fever during the three days we were snowed in that time, so we didn't get to play in the snow. But Jason did get some pictures. We'll post them soon!
