The way it happened was really a God-thing!
After months of agonizing looking and pondering, we found a table at Rooms to Go that was just OK. Neither of us were thrilled with it, but I was just ready to be done with the whole ordeal. We decided on it on a Saturday night, but decided to go home and think about it overnight. The next day, we headed back to the mall area to go buy the table. As we were driving to the store, we passed a store called Price Point Furniture. Jason insisted that we go in just for his own peace of mind. I was reluctant because I didn't want to start from square one again and be confused and torn and emotional (Let's just blame it on the pregnancy hormones at this point). But I gave in, knowing that it was the wise thing to do. And there it was ... the perfect table.
The story gets even better though. We really wanted to have the table by Mother's Day weekend because we were having my family over for dinner on Saturday night. But alas, they didn't have any in stock and it would be week after Mother's Day before they could deliver it. I was disappointed, but knew this was still the right table. I told people it was God's way of teaching me to have more patience.
I didn't give it much thought that next week, but Jason called me at work on Thursday (just four short days after we found the table) and said that they were delivering it that very evening. Two days before our family get-together. I thought he was joking at first!! I just couldn't believe it!! But it was already delivered and set up when I got home from work that day. It couldn't have worked out any more perfectly.
Many people have asked to see pictures, so here you go .... along with some notes about the selling points!
I originally wanted a black table, but we found that all of the black tables showed every single little mark and they just didn't look good, but when I saw the finish on this table ... I was sold! It's dark, but hides a lot!
If you look close, you'll notice that the seat cushions are leather. That means they will clean easily! Hooray!
We wanted a table that could at least seat eight so we could fit our whole families whenever they came over, which this table will do. BUT it also came with a long bench (below) that allows us to seat 10 people if we really want to. AND the bench makes a great piece of furniture to use in our living room, allowing us to actually hang out with people around the fireplace!!
